How bad is weed for an athlete?
I’m a competitive college athlete, but I’ve had insomnia since I was little. I’ve seriously tried EVERYTHING (over the counter sleeping meds, sleepy time tea, Yoga, prescription sleeping meds you name it) but I still can’t manage to sleep untill like 5 in the morning. I’m seriously not a stoner at all, but someone gave me weed to fall asleep recently and it WORKED!! I want to keep using it too catch some ZZZ’s but I’m scared that it will slow down my performance on the court. I know it’s not great for an athlete, but how much will it change my speed, and cardio performance?
If you smoke it regularly it can cause you to lose a little lung performance, but there are recipes that you can use for ingestion, the only down side would be that you have to eat more than you would smoke and that can get spendy. As long as you only smoke a few hits to fall asleep it, I doubt you will see a decrease in athletic performance, but if your randomly tested like the previous person said that could be bad.
